Schell's Emerald Rye

This is one of the latest releases from the August Schell Brewery of New Ulm, Minnesota.

This 6.2% ABV beer pours a deep brown amber, tending to ruby. There is a large head of thick and creamy off-white foam. The aroma is grassy, fruity, tangy. The taste follows the aromas, starting grassy and tangy, this is followed by a wave of spicy rye, followed by deep, rich toasted malt, with a very dry and quite bitter finish. An assertively hopped lager, that uses the fruity Emerald hop. This is a winner from Schell’s.
