This 10% ABV beer pours a deep orange copper in color with a half inch of thick and fizzy head that is off-white in color. The aroma is dark rich, and sweet caramel, some juicy raisin, a hint of vanilla, along with an earthy, woody and tart yeastiness. The alcohol is noticeable. The taste is the deep, dark, rich, sweet caramel over a light fruitiness. This is rich and dessert-like, but with a nicely dry finish and a fine bubbliness on the mouth. This is a nice Trappist ale.
