Sprecher Brewing Company Winter Brew Lager

The Sprecher Brewing Company is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was founded in 1985 by a former brewing supervisor for Pabst Brewing.

This 5.75% ABV dark lager pours very dark brown, almost black in appearance.  There is a half-inch of creamy, foamy head that is light brown in color.  The aroma is dark roasted malt, light coffee, a touch of dark chocolate and a hint of sweetness.  The taste is a nice, rich dark roasted malt, roasted, toasted, almost nutty, with a hint of perfectly balanced tartness on the end.  The mouthfeel is both creamy and carbonated.  This is a very tasty and drinkable dark lager.
