Deschutes Brewery Green Lakes Organic Ale

The Deschutes Brewery is in Bend, Oregon on the banks of the Deschutes River which provides pristine water from the Cascade Mountains for brewing, or at least so the bottle says. They have been brewing since 1988.

This 5.3% ABV USDA certified organic amber ale is brewed with five malts and hops that include Liberty and Salmon-Safe Sterling hops.  The beer pours slightly hazy, but with a bright orange-copper-amber color.  There is a tall quarter-inch of thick and creamy head, very light brown in color.  The aroma is malty, biscuity, caramel, with notes of tea and flowers.  The taste is strongly malty, rye bread, strong tea, a touch of molasses, but with a dry and somewhat bitter finish.
