Maui Brewing Co. - Hi.P.Hay

The Maui Brewing Company is in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.  This 6.8% ABV IPA is brewed in honor of Glen Hay Falconer, and proceeds are being donated to a foundation in his name to provide scholarships to brewers.

The beer pours a glowing copper in color with a short head of off-white foam.  The aroma is hop-forward, citrusy, floral-herbal, light melon and tropical fruit, over a solid malt base.  The taste is amazing, following the aromas but even brighter and stronger, with an intense but pleasing bitterness, and a strong second wave of fruitiness in the finish.  This is a very tasty, hop-forward IPA with a good, strong malt base.
