Carroll Brewing Black Lager

This 4.8% ABV black lager is from the Carroll Brewing Company of Carroll, Iowa. 

The beer pours an extremely dark brown to black in color. There is a half-inch of light tan head. It is well carbonated. The aroma is dark roasted malt, char, dark chocolate, and light anise. The taste follows the aromas, nice dark roast, char, a bit of coffee. The finish is moderately bitter. The beer drinks easy, crisp, refreshing. This is a nicely done beer.
