Exile Festy Ale

This 6.5% ABV farmhouse IPA is from the Exile Brewing Company  of Des Moines, Iowa. It is brewed with Amarillo, Mandarina Bavaria, and Sorachi Ace hops, along with traditional Norwegian kveik (farmhouse) yeast.

The beer pours a very hazy, almost cloudy, apricot and peach flesh in color. There is over an inch of thick, foamy, white head. The aroma is tangy, citrus, funky, peach, with a bit of pineapple. The taste follows the aromas, very fruity, a bit funky and leathery, all blending together very nicely. The finish is crisp, citrusy, with moderate bitterness. The beer drinks easy, smooth, yet with sparkling carbonation. This is well done, and very good.
