Lion Bridge Green Dragon

This 5.5% ABV New Zealand style pilsner is from the Lion Bridge Brewing Company of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It is made like a lager but also uses New Zealand and Motueka hops.

The beer pours crystal clear, and a deep golden. There is a relatively short head of white foam. The aroma has the crispness and straw of a pilsner, with the light tropical fruit of an IPA. The taste blends the aromas, crisp, grassy, grain and straw, with tropical fruit, passion fruit and mango skins. There is moderate bitterness with a crisp, clean, refreshing finish. This is very good. It drinks a lot like a brut IPA, but with a lager flavor at its base.
