Westmalle Tripel

This is a 9.5% ABV Trappist ale from the Monastery of Westmalle in Belgium.

The beer pours dark golden in color. There is a short, but thick, head of white foam. The aroma is rich grain, straw, honey sweet. The taste follows the aromas, rich, sweet, malty grain, straw, hay, floral, honey. The beer drinks smooth, followed by the intense, fine tingling of bottle-conditioned carbonation. Well done, there is a reason it is a classic.
