Confluence Blue Corn Lager

This is a 5.8% ABV summer seasonal release. The Confluence Brewing Company is in Des Moines, Iowa. This lager is made with blue corn from New Mexico (Iowa grows the most corn, but they found the blue better for their beer).

The beer pours a clear, yellow golden. There is about an inch of pure white head. The aroma is a touch sweet, fresh picked corn, grassy. The taste is sweet corn, cracked dry corn, a touch grassy on the end. The finish is moderately bitter. The beer drinks smooth, but nicely carbonated, giving a bit of a sting. This is a nice lager.
