Sierra Nevada Boomerang IPA

This 6.7% ABV India Pale Ale is from the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company of Chico, California and Mills River, North Carolina. It is part of their winter sampler pack the Snowpack. It uses Australian hops, I guess accounting for the name.

The beer pours golden yellow, lightly hazed. There is a tall, thick, nearly creamy head of white foam that leaves rings of lacing down the glass. The aroma is tart citrus, floral, passion fruit, and light tones of pine and musk. The taste follows the aromas, it drinks crisp, bitter, with a note of tart. The finish is dry and quite bitter. It drinks crisply refreshing and well carbonated. Solid, like every offering from Sierra Nevada, but also not a transcendental IPA.
