New Belgium Hop the Pond

This 8.0% ABV Double India Pale Ale is Hop Kitchen release #7 from New Belgium Brewing of Fort Collins, Colorado. It uses Admiral hops from England, Galaxy from Australia, and Citra from the United States, along with malts from Chile, Germany, England and Canada.

The beer pours amber and copper stemming from a dark, orange-tinted, honey golden. There is a tall, thick, foamy head of off-white. The aroma is tropical fruit, passion fruit, mango skin, citrus, with a light earthy dank to pine note. The taste is round, full, lush, ripe tropical fruits and melons, loads of mango, fruit sweetness with the bitterness of passion fruit skin and grapefruit rind, and a light dankness. The finish is quite dry and bitter, with a smooth and soft mouthfeel. This bottle cost $3.00, making this a most incredible value, because this would be a damn good double IPA at $15.00 a bottle.
