Lagunitas New Dogtown Pale Ale

This 6.2% ABV pale ale is from the Lagunitas Brewing Company of Petaluma, California. Their motto on the bottle? Life is uncertain, don't sip!

The beer pours an orange tinted honey golden in color. There is a large, fairly thick head of white foam that leaves sticky lacing on the glass. The aroma is oranges, fruity, earthy, floral, with a touch of lager-like funk, some tropical fruit and melon, and just a touch of dank pine. The taste follows the aromas, adding in tea with lemon, and a finish of pine needle bitterness. It is hop forward, but sits on some biscuity malt. It drinks easy and is refreshingly carbonated. This is a good American style pale ale that is hoppier and better than many American IPA's.
