Lagunitas Maximus

This 8.2% double IPA is from the Lagunitas Brewing Company of Petaluma, California. It has 72.41 IBU's. Their motto on the bottle? Life is uncertain, don't sip!

The beer pours apricot and amber in color, a touch hazy. There is a large, pillowy, foamy head of off-white that leaves sticky lacing on the glass. The aroma is tropical fruits, mango and pineapple, with some earthy dankness. The taste hits with the same savory blast of tropical fruits, that linger full, round and smooth in the mouth, followed with piney bitterness and a grapefruit peel finish. It is medium-bodied with a pleasant, tingling carbonation. By lupulus, this is excellent!
