Josef Belgian Blonde Ale

This Belgian blonde ale is 6.0%ABV made by the Brouwerij Martens of Bocholt, Belgium. The recipe dates to 1867 and it uses dry hopping. I got this at Trader Joe's and I am guessing by its name "Josef" that it is one of their store brand beers, probably specially brewed for them.

The beer pours a pure and clear dark golden in color. There is about an inch of white, foamy head. The aroma is creamy golden malt, clean straw, a bit herbal. The taste follows the aromas and adds in a grassy bitter finish. It drinks smooth, yet refreshingly carbonated. The only off note is a metallic note on the finish that gets a bit too strong. For its price point, this is pretty damn fine.
