Boulder Hoopla Pale Ale

This beer is a collaboration with Kyle Hollingsworth, keyboardist for the band the String Cheese Incident. It is from the Boulder Beer Company of Boulder, Colorado. It is 5.7% ABV and uses Nugget, Glacier and Centennial hops.

The beer pours a deep, dark amber and copper in color with a very tall, thick and creamy head of off-white to very light brown foam. The aroma is tangy, fruity, citrusy, stone fruit, yeast is apparent, over a malty base. The taste is light citrus and stone fruit, over a generous malty base, caramel and toasted, yeasty tang, with a fairly bitter finish. It is quite intensely carbonated. The aftertaste reveals notes of tea and fruit marmalades. This makes for an interesting pale ale.
