Three Floyds Razor Hoof

Three Floyds Brewing Company is out of Munster, Indiana. This is a 8.2% ABV saison that is dry hopped. The beer is tied into the heavy metal band High on Fire.

The beer pours a deep, but glowing, amber in color. There is a tall, thick head of foam that is off-white to very light brown. The aroma is malty and tangy, fruity and yeasty, caramel, dried fruits, flowers and grass. The taste follows the aromas, there is both deep, rich, semi-sweet malt, caramel and sweet potatoes, but also a tangy, floral, bitter grassiness. It is fairly dry and moderately bitter, with a nice, tingling carbonation. Well done.

I also had this on tap in Chicago at Hopleaf.  I can't say enough great stuff about that place, absolutely delicious and wonderful food and a beer list to die for!
