Prairie Ale

This 7.0% ABV Belgian-style saison is from Prairie Artisan Ales. It is my understanding that Prairie are tenant or gypsy brewers based out of Oklahoma. They do not have their own brewery, but go and brew themselves at other breweries. This bottle was brewed and bottled at Krebs Brewing Company in Krebs, Oklahoma.

The beer pours a hazy yellow in color. There is a large, billowing head of ragged white foam. The aroma is delicious, lots of citrus and flowers, I can smell it from two feet away. There is some toasted malt, crackers, tanginess and yeast in the aroma as well. The taste follows the aromas, with the flowers and funkiness coming to the forefront. There is a dry woodiness as well. The finish is moderately bitter. It has a champagne-like carbonation.  Prairie sure does this style well.
