Indeed Brewing LSD Honey Ale

This beer is 7.2% ABV and 20 IBU's and is from the Indeed Brewing Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota. They, like several other new brewers, are located in Northeast Minneapolis. They are a member of 1% for the planet, a global alliance of businesses that donate one percent of their gross revenue to organizations that help preserve and restore the natural environment. The cap is covered in lavender colored wax and the logo is trippy, to befit the name. And the name? It stands for the ingredients in the beer, Lavender, Sunflower honey, and Dates.

The beer pours amber and copper in color, with a touch of haze. There is a tall head of off-white to very light brown head. Let me tell you, this is THE most aromatic beer I have ever had. You could wear this beer as cologne or perfume. There is a lot of lavender, but it combines with the honey and dates in such a way as to become spicy, and as if it had a lot of ginger in it. The taste of the beer is surprising, it is like the aroma, yet not like the aroma. It is herbal, but it immediately takes over your whole body and gives you an involuntary shudder, a tingle, a warmth. Again, the taste gives a ginger like tone to me. It is well carbonated, but in a way that is more subtle than overbearing. It finishes dry overall.

This is a very flavorful beer, it is not a session beer in any conceivable way...but, folks, there is SOMETHING magic about this beer. It is aptly named, because its overall effect is psychedelic, out of body, and pleasant in a unique and strange way.
