Big Wood Brewery Morning Wood Coffee Stout

This is 5.5% ABV coffee stout from the Big Wood Brewery of White Bear Lake, Minnesota (although this can was contract brewed at Cold Spring Brewery in Cold Spring, Minnesota). It is brewed with coffee (surprise) and you drink that in the morning, and wood comes from a Big Wood, which means that morning wood is...oh, never mind, we all know the meaning of their double entendre.

The beer pours black in color, some dark ruby on the edges when held to the light. There is a short head of light brown foam, cappucino, slightly creamy. The aroma is fairly light, coffee and dark roasted malt. The taste is very dark roasted malt, coffee, well-blended. Many coffee stouts are overbearing with the coffee, this one is melded nicely. There is a just right coffee bitterness on the finish. It is fairly light bodied, easy to drink.
