Badger Hill MSB - Minnesota Special Bitter

The Badger Hill Brewing Company is in Minnetonka, Minnesota. This is their 5.7% ABV Minnesota Special Bitter, or MSB for short (get it, like ESB, or Extra Special Bitter?). It has Maris Otter, 2 Row, and Crystal malts, along with four American and English hops. It comes in medium on the IBU's with 47.

The beer pours a hazed amber in color. There is a tall head of thick, ragged sea-like foam. The aroma is malty, caramel, with an edge of grassy bitterness. The taste follows the aromas, beginning with a solid maltiness, notes of caramel, and then ending very dryly and surprisingly bitter. A touch of metal on the finish. This is a nice take on the British bitter style.
