Weihenstephaner Original Premium

This 5.1% ABV lager is from the Weihenstephaner brewery in Freising, Bavaria, Germany. According to their bottle they are the world's oldest brewery (since 1040?!). The beer pours a pale yellow golden in color. There is a short head of very thick white foam. The aroma is golden grain, crusty bread, grass, floral, straw and a touch of lemon. The taste is rich, bready, golden grain, with a grassy and floral hop finish. There is a  hint of honey sweetness and a moderately bitter finish. It is nicely and crisply carbonated, with the thick head providing a smoothness. This is a tasty and satisfying German lager!
