Boulevard Harvest Dance

This 9.5% wheat wine style ale is No. 11 from the Smokestack Series by the Boulevard Brewing Company of Kansas City, Missouri.  Their Smokestack Series consists of special, seasonal and limited releases. It uses Citra and Hallertau hops and is aged in French and American oak barrels. I like Death with his scythe dancing with the sheaf of harvested wheat.

The beer pours a deep copper in color. There is a very tall head of off-white thick and billowing foam. The aroma is yeasty, fruity esters, dry woodiness, and tangy. The taste is yeasty tropical fruits, thick and rich, tangy, dry, woody and bitter finish up the initial full, round, sweetness of overripe fruit. It has a nice carbonation, but also a smooth roundness in the mouth. Another great beer from  Boulevard!
