Curious Traveler Shandy

Shandy is a mix of lemonade and lager. It has been an increasingly popular style this year, with many offerings being released. This one is from the House of Shandy Beer Co. of Cincinnati, Ohio. I wonder if this is a City Brewing product, as they have a brewery in Cincinnati. Their logo is a mustache, and they hand out fake ones at beer fests. This is 4.4% ABV and uses Hallertau hops, lemon and lime.

It pours a cloudy honey golden in color with a rapidly dissipating white head. The aroma is lemon, like the lemon juice that comes in those fake plastic lemons, with a bit of toasted malty beer coming through underneath. The taste is toasted malt beer and lemon. The overall effect, and particularly the aftertaste, become like a lemon meringue pie. It is well carbonated and tingles in the mouth. Straight forward, but a good summer beer.
