Lakefront Pumpkin Lager

The Lakefront Brewery is in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  It is that time of year for seasonal Oktoberfest and pumpkin beers.  This 6.0% ABV beer is apparently based on a recipe from Thomas Jefferson that used pumpkin.  This beer also has spices added.

The beer pours copper and orange in color (perhaps like the inside of jack o' lantern in the dark as the candle glows on the orange insides?).  There is a short head of white to off-white foam.  The aroma is cinnamon sticks, cranberry juice, light pumpkin and light malt.  The taste is fairly light, pumpkin and malt with some cinnamon, but less than the aroma.  There is a bitter finish that is also slightly tart.  The aftertaste is somewhat unpleasant.  I have had better pumpkin beers, this is somewhat disappointing.
