Shock Top Lemon Shandy

This 4.2% ABV beer is from the Shock Top Brewing Company of St. Louis, Missouri (think Anheuser-Busch InBev).

Shandy, or "radler" in German, is a mix of lager and lemonade.  The style appears to be on the cusp of becoming quite popular in the United States, with many breweries big and small releasing one this year.  This beer pours a hazy yellow golden with a tall head of white foam.  The aroma is lemon, lemonade, tart lemon (you get the idea), over wheat beer. The taste is an even lemonade, not too tart and not to sweet, on top of a light toasted wheat beer flavor.  There is not much aftertaste, but what there is stays true to the original flavors.  It is well-balanced and proportioned.  I haven't much cared for the Shock Top beers I have tried, but I do like this one, it is well done and a great summer refresher.
