Sierra Nevada Brewing Ruthless Rye IPA

The Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is in Chico, California.  I think they are one of the finest across the board craft breweries in the United States, in that everything they make is drinkable and a good representation of its style, even though they don't make many whales.

This 6.6% ABV and 55 IBU beer pours a medium brown and dark orange in color.  There is a tall, thick, somewhat creamy, off-white head.  The aroma is a perfect balance of toasted rye malt and hoppy fruits, light tropical and melons.  The taste follows the nice balance of the aroma, spicy toasted rye, rye toast, and a fruity hoppiness, sweet, yet tangy. It has a dry and moderately bitter finish, with a thirst-quenching grapefruit juice note.  This is solid, quite good.
