Barena

This 4.6% ABV beer is brewed by the Cervecria Hondurena in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.

The beer pours a light golden, straw color with a half inch of white foamy head.  There is a medium lacing left down the glass as the beer is consumed.  The aroma is grain and corn, a very slight bit of green apple and a touch of lager "funk".  The taste follows the aroma quite closely, the mouthfeel is creamy smooth, yet crisp and refreshing on the finish.  The taste here is mediocre, but it has a great mouthfeel for the category of an adjunct lager.

  1. I had one last week, and I thought it had an unpleasant cardboard taste aspect to it.
