Empyrean Brewing Company Luna Sea E.S.B.

The Empyrean Brewing Company is in Lincoln, Nebraska.

This 5.9% ABV beer pours a cloudy, hazy dark copper in color, wtih hints of amber.  The aroma is of roasted, nutty malt.  It is much more darkly roasted in its aroma than I would expect from an ESB.  The taste is very  nutty, and slightly sweet and aromatic, like hazelnuts and pistachios.  The finish has some tartness and then winds up slightly bitter and dry.  This is a very  interesting beer, and if you like nut brown ales you should really like this beer.
