Breckinridge Brewery Christmas Ale

7.4% ABV.  This beer pours a dark, just translucent brown.  The aroma is fairly subdued and subtle.  There is a bit of caramel and a bit of plum like fruit.  There is deep roasted malt in the flavor, almost a bit of coffee, with a bit of sweetness.  It is surprisingly "light" for being 7.4%.  This beer is solid, it is good, yet it is also a bit "blah".  In its solidity, it stands out in no particular.  It is also definitely not a "winter warmer" type Christmas ale, so if that is what you are looking for, you can skip past this one.  On the other hand, if you were looking for a really good brown or Scotch ale, I would go for this.
