Keystone, Keystone Light, and Keystone Ice are all made by Coors. I find Keystone Light is very similar to Coors Light but a lot cheaper. "Always Smooth" is their motto. These beers are very drinkable and very forgettable. They are smooth and light and refreshing on a hot day. But if you want much beer flavor, you will have to go somewhere else. Keystone Light is ubiquitous. I think the Ice is fairly easy to find too. You don't see Keystone regular as much. I used to get it in Massachusetts. I have also seen it in Omaha, Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Where else have you seen Keystone?
Seeing the Keystone can reminded me of the recent trend toward brewing good beer in cans, rather than swill like Keystone. Have you had much experience with any? I almost bought a six of Dale's Pale Ale yesterday ... then I saw it was $9.99. The cans better refill themselves for that price.
ReplyDeleteThirsty,
ReplyDeleteI have had experience with quite a few of the canned craft beers. I have to say my experience has been very positive.
There are two reasons for the increased use of cans in craft beer. First, the cans keep out light and oxygen better and thus the beer stays fresher and better tasting longer. Secondly, they are much lighter and more compact and less energy is needed so they are supposedly more environmentally friendly, and just plain easier to transport.
I think cans are still associated mainly with cheaper beer but this is changing fast, just like the concept that wine with a screw top must be cheap.
