City Brewing - LaCrosse Lager - Lost Lake Light

La Crosse Lager - Sour piss. I don’t understand City Brewing’s propensity for making such thin, sour and undrinkable beers. They do have some exceptions, such as Lost Lake.  the can says: "Fully Krausened.  Double Brewed with Pure Artesian Water."  What the hell does double brewed mean?  You may recognize the term "krausened." That used to appear on the labels of Old Style.  The grain silos at what is now the City Brewery used to  be decorated as a six pack of Old Style.  Now they are decorated as a six-pack of La Crosse Lager.  Some say that La Crosse Lager is the original recipe of Old Style.  Any ignorant ass bastard who says that has never compared the two brews.  Old Style is good, La Crosse Lager is shite.

Lost Lake Light- By Universal Sales, Inc., La Crosse, WI. This is a City Brewery product. They have a lot of terrible beers and a few good ones. This is one of the good ones, only because it is not bad. For the price it is good, it is only $10.49 for a 30 pack. It has been about a year since I had regular Lost Lake. I can not really discern any difference with the light. “Naturally Brewed” whatever the hell that is supposed to mean. The “Light” is in a strange neon green, I am not sure who was the graphic designer for this product, but they deserve to lose their job. The can looks more like a cheap energy drink than a cheap beer. According to the can, if you are cool, you will apparently refer to this as “LLL”.

Here also is a link that shows that City Brewing sometimes stinks, literally:
