Alaskan Cranberry Tart

This 5.8% ABV ale made with cranberries and spruce tips is from the Alaskan Brewing Company of Juneau, Alaska.

The beer pours a clear dark golden with red tints. There is a relatively short head of white to off-white foam. The aroma is tart cranberries, with just a touch of spruce. The cranberry in the aroma is tart, the cranberry in the taste is much more of a sweet fruit, the spruce is again present, but quite subdued. The finish is part sweet and party dry, with very little bitterness. The beer drinks with a medium body and moderate carbonation.
