Avery Ellie's Brown Ale

The Avery Brewing Company of Boulder, Colorado was established in 1993. This is their 5.5% ABV brown ale.

The beer pours a very dark brown and dark ruby, nearing black. There is an inch of thick, foamy, light tan head. The aroma is sweet and nutty roasted malt, with overtones of dark fruits. The taste is roasted malt, even to a touch of char, some sweetness, dark fruits, but with a dry finish, moderately bitter. The beer drinks very smooth, with lightly tingling carbonation.
