Free State Stormchaser Summer IPA

This "summer" India Pale Ale is from the Free State Brewing Company of Lawrence, Kansas, brewing since 1989. It adds in some wheat malt, and uses Centennial, Citra, and Crystal hops.

The beer pours honey golden and apricot in color. There is nearly an inch of white, foamy head. The aroma is citrus, oranges, with a light note of earthy, dank, pine. The taste follows the aromas, hitting the same notes, resting on some caramel malt. The finish is fairly bitter and has a zesty grapefruit tang. The beer drinks with a medium body and a smooth note.
