Schlafly Kolsch

This is a 4.8% ABV kolsch-style ale from Schlafly Beers, the St. Louis Brewing Company of St. Louis, Missouri. According to the bottle their yeast strain was sourced from a famous Kolsch brewer in Koln (Cologne), Germany, the originating city of this style of beer.

The beer pours yellow and golden with a touch of haze. There is over an inch of thick, foamy white head. The aroma is floral and fruity, touch of honey, straw and grass, dried golden grains. The taste follows the aromas quite directly. It drinks smooth and easy with a light, tingling carbonation, and a lightly bitter finish.
