Miller Fortune

Let's say you are a huge brewer, controlling large parts of the populace with watery beers. You see your market share being decimated by spirits and craft beer (and what says craft beer more than barrel aged?). Your solution? A bourbon flavored beer! That is Miller Brewing's Fortune, a "Spirited" Golden Lager. It is 6.9% ABV. I do like their ace of spades logo (Motorhead video link below!).

I've said this before and I will continue to say this...Miller/Coors, you can't afford to set up a unique website for your new beer launch? (As of the writing of this, there is no unique website shown on the can or by a Google search. In addition, the website shown on the can doesn't even have Miller Fortune on it!)

The beer pours a light and clear amber in color. There is a tall head of white foam that disappears fairly quickly. The aroma is toasted malt, with a hint of whiskey and vanilla. The whiskey note is very faint, like sniffing a glass in the morning that had been used for whiskey the night before, but is now dry. The taste follows the aromas, a bit sweet. It is medium bodied with a crisp, but not over the top, carbonation.

My expectations for this were quite low, so it was able to exceed them, definitely better than Bud’s Black Crown or Bud Light Platinum. The sweetness builds as you drink it and gets a bit annoying.

Speaking of the Ace of Spades, see Motorhead here!
