Central Waters Hop Rise Session Ale

The Central Waters Brewing Company is in Amherst, Wisconsin. It is dry hopped for extra aroma and flavor. The beer pours a clear, gleaming amber and copper in color. There is a relatively short head of off-white foam. The aroma is musky/funky hops, tangy citrus, tangerine, mandarin oranges, light grapefruit, and passion fruit. The taste follows the aromas, ups the grapefruit tang, and particular the grapefruit, astringent bitterness, and puts it all over a toasted and crackery malt base that stays in the background, but holds up all the hops. It is easy drinking and refreshingly carbonated. The bitterness builds as you drink the beer.

I had this back-to-back with the Sierra Nevada Nooner Session IPA and this one is the winner in that bracket. However, neither beats Founders All Day Session IPA.
