Prairie Funky Galaxy

This is a Galaxy hopped black farmhouse ale from Prairie Artisan Ales of Oklahoma. The cap shows a catfish coming at you mouth first. Prairie are tenant brewers, they do not have their own brewery, but go and brew themselves at other's facilities, which from every bottle I have seen is the Krebs Brewing Company in Krebs, Oklahoma.

The beer pours a dense black in color, even when held to the light. There is a tall, thick, foaming head of light brown. The aroma is very floral and very funky. There is some dark roasted malt in the background, but not much gets through the floral funkiness. The taste follows the aromas, tons of flower and funk, a little dark roasted malt, and a vague hoppy fruitiness in the way back. This is totally unbalanced, why even add the Galaxy and dark roasted malt if they can barely be tasted? It is a “fail” in my book, not because it isn't well crafted, but it's parts just don't work together for me.
