Williams Bros Scottish Midnight Sun Dark Porter Ale

This is a 5.6% ABV porter from Williams Bros Brewing in Kelliebank, Alloa, Scotland. In addition to malted barley is also uses oats.

The beer pours a deep mahogany, looking black, very dark ruby when held to the light. There is nearly an inch of somewhat creamy light brown head. The aroma is some roasted char, dark chocolate, very light mocha, with a mineral tang. The taste follows the aromas directly, drinking very smooth, somewhat creamy, with a tangy ending that has moderate to strong bitterness. It is medium bodied, nearing full with its creaminess, but drinking easy. The aftertastes are true to the original flavor. Nice!
