Victory Dirt Wolf Double IPA

This 8.7% ABV double India Pale Ale is from Victory Brewing of Downington, Pennsylvania. The name is their tribute to the hop plant, which rises "from the earth with the voracity of a 'wolf among sheep'." The bottle indicates they use whole cone hops in this beer. Yes, whole flower Citra, Simcoe, Mosaic, and Chinook.

The beer pours a dark golden in color with a tinge of orange or apricot. There is a half-inch of off-white head. The aroma is dank, wonderful, funky, earthy dankness, with passion fruit and light citrus. The taste follows the aromas directly, with a very dry, clean and quite bitter finish. It is medium bodied and drinks smooth with moderate carbonation. This is excellent. If you like dank, funky IPA’s then don’t miss this one!
