Samuel Adams Longshot Strawberry Lager

Samuel Adams beers are by the Boston Beer Company of Boston, Massachusetts. This 5.5% ABV beer is part of Samuel Adams Longshot homebrew contest, where each year they choose several home brewer's recipes for their Longshot release. This is the recipe of Dave Anderson, a lager brewed with strawberries.

The beer pours a slightly cloudy honey golden with orange tint. There is a half inch of partially creamy white head. The aroma is strawberries over grain. So is the taste. There is a bitterness on the finish, the beer underneath the strawberries seems thin. It is reminiscent of liquid beer strawberry shortcake, but not so sweet. There is a metallic tang on the aftertaste. Underwhelming, it seems incomplete and lacking somehow. Frankly, I am surprised they picked this. Abita Strawberry Harvest Lager is much better.
