Okoboji Brewing Select 33 Brown Ale

The Okoboji Brewing Company is a relatively new brewpub in Spirit Lake, Iowa, near Lake Okoboji. Their  canned beers used to be contract brewed for them (Boji Craft Beers) by the Great River Brewery in Davenport, Iowa. However, the cans now say they were brewed and canned in Spirit Lake. This is a 6.5% ABV brown ale brewed with maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla.

The beer pours a dark brown in color. It is hard to tell, but it looks like it is hazy. There is a huge, massive head of light brown foam. The aroma is sour. This has all the earmarks of an infected beer with secondary refermentation; never seen that out of a can before. The beer is sour tasting, with light maple, cinnamon and vanilla. This can't be how this beer is supposed to taste.  Shame. I did like their other beers.
