Mikkeller Open Windows Open Hills Tiger Baby

Mikkeller is a brewery based in Denmark. It beers its brews in breweries all over the world. This beer was brewed at De Proef Brouwerij in Lochristi-Hijfte, Belgium. Tiger Baby is a Danish band and Open Windows Open Hills is the name of one of their albums (I'm listening to their songs off their Facebook page and off Spotify while I try the beer). The beer is 8.0% ABV and is an ale brewed with mango and passion fruit.

The beer pours amber and copper in color, a touch hazy. There is a tall head of thick off-white foam. The aroma is mostly fresh passion fruit, with a bit of mango, more the skin than the flesh. The taste follows the aromas, lots of fresh passion fruit, with a touch of mango peel, over enough malt to hold it up, letting out some tea with lemon, and a bit of yeasty tang playing of the tang of the passion fruit. It is medium bodied with a fine carbonation. It ends quite dry. If you like passion fruit, give it a try for sure. I have to say I was expecting something a bit more mind blowing just because it is brewed with mango and passion fruit, but I have to say it is pleasant, subdued and refined, much like this Tiger Baby music.
