BrouCzech Lager

BrouCzech Lager is brewed by the Nova Paka Brewery in Nova Paka, Czech Republic. They have been brewing since 1872 (a relative newcomer to the Czech scene!). The beer pours a very dark honey golden in color. There is a tall head of bubbly white foam. The aroma is malty, grain and sweet potatoes, with some straw and grass. It drinks as it smells, malt forward, grain and sweet potatoes, tending to an almost smokey note, with a grassy finish that adds moderate bitterness. It is medium bodied, nicely carbonated without it being obtrusive. This is a solid malt forward lager.
