Left Coast Hop Juice DIPA

This is a 9.7% ABV Double India Pale Ale from the Left Coast Brewing Company of San Clemente, California. It uses five different hops and is dry hopped for two weeks.

The beer pours a clear copper in color. There is a half inch of thick off-white head, somewhat creamy. The aroma is hop forward, resinous, some pine, citrus, lots of orange, apricot, overripe cantalopue. The taste follows the aromas blended nicely onto a solid malt base. There is sweetness, but also a very strong and dry bitterness. The bitterness is astringent, like biting into a grapefruit peel. There is an element of strong tea with lemon. Not the most spectacular DIPA, but still solid and enjoyable.
