Widmer Brothers Marionberry Hibiscus Gose

Widmer Brothers is from Portland, Oregon. This is part of their "Series 924" of limited releases. This beer is 5.5% ABV and is brewed with marionberry (no, not the former crack smoking mayor of Washington, D.C., but rather a variety of blackberry commonly grown in Oregon), coriander and hibiscus flowers. Gose is a style of beer from Leipzig, Germany that uses coriander and salt.

The beer pours a hazy dark salmon and pink in color. There is a short lived head of thin white foam. The aroma is berries and toasted wheat malt, with lighter hibiscus and just a touch of coriander. The taste is tart   and fruity berries and hibiscus, with an undertone of toasted malt. It has a fine, tingling carbonation. It has an aftertaste almost like a fruit forward rose wine. If you like fruit beers, this one is worth a try.
