Shiner Wild Hare

This is a 5.5% ABV pale ale from the Spoetzel Brewery in Shiner, Texas, maker of Shiner beers. This is unique for Shiner, who is known for German type lagers and not hoppy ales.

The beer pours copper and amber in color with swirling carbonation. There is a tall head of thick, somewhat creamy foam, off-white in color. The aroma is fruity and floral, melons, geraniums and light orange. The taste is light caramel malt, floral, tea with lemon, with a light to moderate bitterness. It is crisply carbonated with some light creaminess from the head. There is some faint fruit in the aftertaste, like cherries or strawberries. Refreshing and easy to drink.
