Pipeworks Something Hoppy This Way Comes

This bottle is Batch #36 of this 10.0% Imperial IPA from the Pipeworks Brewing Company of Chicago, Illinois.

The beer pours a slightly hazy golden, orange and amber in color. There is a short, somewhat creamy head of off-white foam. The aroma is orange, mango, tangerine and citrus. The taste is an intense, intense wave of orange, tangerine, mango, tropical fruit, pineapple, even a bit of coconut with a resinous and tangy, bitter finish. The aftertaste is the flavors lingering, tangy, a touch of pine, and waves of bitterness. I have tried a lot of IPA's, this manages to be familiar, yet unique, and delicious.
