Troegs Brewing Perpetual IPA

The Troegs Brewing Company is in Hershey,  Pennsylvania.  This IPA stands not for India Pale Ale, but Imperial Pale Ale.  It is 7.5% ABV and 85 IBU's.

The beer pours an orange tinted dark golden in color.  There is a short head of white foam that leaves thick and sticky lacing down the glass.  The aroma is very hoppy, pine, melons, lots of cantaloupe, light overripe tropical fruit.  The taste follows the aromas, although the taste is lighter than the aroma.  This drinks light for its relatively high alcohol and flavor.  The finish is quite bitter, almost stinging.  This is a nice strong American pale ale.
